body butter?

what is the purpose of body butter? i was told that it is like lotion, but ment for realy rough skin like elbows and feet but i tried it on my elbows which are really rough and it didn't make the skin aoft at all. so what is the use of body butter?
along with preventing stretch marks does it also reduce them? if used daily?

i just got body butter a few weeks ago..and it is lik lotion but it makes your skin even softer after you use it for a couple days..and its not as liquid as lotion and drys faster..thats why I like it

You are working hard and sweating it out because you want to build hard muscles. You want to lose all your fats and you're thinking that you have to limit your intake of food while doing your body building exercises; combining body building and diet.

With the right weight training program, and by adopting the proper body building diets into your lifestyle, you will definitely start to see some noticeable results within a couple of months. If you're a burger and coke person, who likes to puff their way through 20 plus cigarettes a day, then you are going to need to take some drastic measures in order to make any visible progress to your physique. Folks who just do weight training and little else are not necessarily fit, they just look like superman!

There is however, such a thing as too much protein. As we age and as other complications occur, the amount of protein that our body needs and can handle everyday changes from person to person. What happens is that along with protein, you also find calories which are actually working against the protein. But you cannot just eat proteins without calories, it becomes a big catch-22.

Most modern muscilar men belive that bodybuilding is an activity that operates according to scientific principles and science is mathematically based. Bodybuilding is not an exact science and it's not healthy to look up to some guru for all your answers. Bodybuilding is the art and the science of developing your body.

It can be difficult to manage the fat even if you strictly follow the diet prescribed by your dietician or Coach. You may be worried about the extra fat in your stomach area due to which your stomach bulges outward a bit. In such a situation, Hgh can be very helpful to you.

Finally adequate roughage or fibre in the diet contributes in many ways like providing satiety in the diet, improving bowel movement and is a good source of vitamins and minerals. Apart from that it helps reduce weight too. Avoid peeling off the skin of fruits and vegtables, eating lot of green leafy vegetables are good sources of dietary fibre.

The worst fats that can be consumed are the saturated fats. Fats at room temperature that stay in solid form such as butter and animal lard are said to be saturated fats. Good fats are also called unsaturated fats. These fats have to be taken in moderate quantities. Unsaturated fats are in liquid form at room temperature.

Has anyone made a butter-churn style hand washer? I want to use it for felting hats I have made.?

Similar to the Bamix or Presawash machines that were selling some years ago. I have tried to buy one of these second-hand, but can't find one.

I haven't made one, but it sounds like a great idea. I just have no clue where to buy an old butter churn. Maybe you could get a small barrel with a lid somewhere and make it yourself? Or what about those big plastic buckets that they sell at places like Home Depot. They have tight fitting lids and wouldn't leak. Then you could fashion the plunger part from a smaller lid and some type of broom handle. I'm going to be giving this one a lot of thought. I may try to make one now that you got me going on the idea.

Shea Butter or shea nut butter is an ivory colour natural fat extracted from the fruit of Karite Nut Tree, (also called the Magnifolia Tree). The karite tree lives for a few hundred years and produces its first fruit from the age of 20 –25 years. This tree grows to a length of 15-20 meters and only blooms from June to July. The fruits resemble large plums, which fall to the ground when ripe. Each fruit contains a nut with a hard white kernel, which is the source of the shea butter. Small fruit bats pollinate the karite trees, which helps continue the trees existence.

The karite tree grows naturally in the savannah of West Africa. It grows in 19 countries across the African continent. In Ghana, Sudan, Zaire, Ethiopia, Benin, Central African Republic, Cameroon, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Togo, Uganda, Guinea, Cote d'Iviore, Guinea Bissau and Chad.

The African women walk long distances to gather the fruit and are also responsible for the production of the shea butter. Production is a long and laborious task. The shea nuts are first dried in the sun, then the nuts are cracked open by hand pounding. After opening the nuts are boiled to release the shea butter. Once released the fluid is kneaded to transform it into an ivory coloured paste known as shea butter. This is then poured into containers ready for exporting.

Shea Butter is valuable natural resource to the rural communites of West Africa. Each year tonnes of shea butter is exported around the world. The production and exportation of shea butter not only provides these communites with fresh water, medical treatment, housing and schooliing but, also strengthens their economic future.

Shea butter is one of the most affective natural moisturises. It is used in soaps, balms, creams, lotions and hair conditioners (adds and maintains moisture in dry brittle hair giving it a softer appearance). Shea butter absorbs rapidly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Shea butter is also rich in vitamins A and E. (Vitamin A promotes enzyme activity in the skin, thickens the epidermis and helps skin cells reguvenate in a healthier way. Vitamin E is a natural anti-oxidant that slows down the signs of ageing and the degeneration of skin cells. Reduces fine lines and wrinkles and soothes the irritaion of dry skin).

Shea butter also has remarkable healing qualities. It is known to be effective in the treatment of scars, wrinkles, very dry skin, stretchmarks, eczema, chapped lips, rashes, acne, blemishes and fading scars. This natural ingredient also contains cinnamic acid, which provides natural protection against the sun's damaging ultraviolet rays.

Can burt's bees honey and shea butter body cream help reduce stretch marks?

I recently bought some Burt's bees honey and shea butter body cream (just because it smelled really nice and my legs were really ashy, especially in dry weather).
I forgot i had some stretch marks until i started putting some, and just out of curiosity, would using this body cream will over time help fade out stretch marks?

BEst thing for stretch marks is Vitamin E, not sure what goes into Burts, but check to see % of Vitamin E in it. I had a nasty surgery scar, and doctor suggested Vitamin E oil for treatment, I couldn't find Vitamin E oil in local pharmacy, but did find it in gel capsules. I peirced the pill and applied the vitamin E, and was amazed at how fast it reduced the scar, did not totally eliminate it, but remarkable reduction. Hope this helps.

The company is full of confidence about the efficacy of this product and is offering a full money back guarantee if it does not work. Women having a loose vagina will surely like to have an insight about this product and its success rate.

Let us first examine some of its ingredients
Shea butter, Aloe Vera, Squalene, Asian soy, de-ionized water, soluble vitamin A, soluble vitamin E, sorbitol.

Out of all these herbs the most important ingredient seems to be Asian soy which has been traditionally used for firming and regenerating a new elasticity in the vagina by Asian women. Other important ingredient is L- Arginine which has been found highly effective in increasing female libido by increasing blood supply to the women sexual organs.

Products Website
The website is quite informative in nature and has a separate section where one can know about all health related problems and their alternative herbal remedies. The virgin cream can be brought directly from the website which is a good thing as it gives a global reach to the product. The website also offers full money back guarantee for up to 60 days.

Final Analysis
Large number of positive customer testimonials and money back guarantee plus a very informative website does create a feeling of confidence in the product.

Culinary proficiency is easy! As any celebrity chef worth their kosher salt will tell you, what makes a dish taste great are fresh ingredients. Prepare them minimally. When an ingredient is freshly harvested (animal, fish, fowl, fruit or vegetable) the unique flavor of that ingredient is at its freshest and most vibrant. A top chef knows not to smother, muffle or dilute that unique vibrancy of flavor: just prepare it in such a well that the natural tastes are presented with minimum interference. Stand back and let that incredible flavor shine through!

Parents holidaying here can occupy the toddlers on the beach, their kids can tell them if they are hot, thirsty or need to rest, whereas in contrast, a newborn baby can not, so you have to be vigilant in watching baby`s behaviour. The Spanish sun can be very hot and dangerous in peak season, regardless of the child`s age, you need to smother the children in sun protection and place a hat on their head.

Leakage of milk from the breasts can be absorbed by nursing pads, but even these will become soaked occasionally. To prepare yourself for such an occurrence in public, wear printed tops as much as possible. The stains from the leakage will be less visible than if you're wearing a solid color. Also print tops don't show baby-carrying wrinkles as much as solid colors do.

Substances like Vitamin E and CoQ10 enzyme are more easily absorbed into the cell where they support healthy cell function. On the other hand, she said that she learned that the chemical ingredients in cheap skin care products clog the pores and smother the cell so that it can't function normally.

One of the most controversial practices is co-sleeping. Opponents argue that co-sleeping is stressful and dangerous for baby; a parent may smother the child and believe it raises the risk of SIDS. They also believe it promotes an unhealthy dependence on the parent and could interfere with the parents' relationship to each other. In addition, they contend that this practice may interfere with the parents' own relationship.

You should make sure that you do not suffocate your body or smother it, while you are breastfeeding it. Make sure that your baby is able tilt is or head back if your baby needs it. You have to make sure that the breath way if your child is always open.

Moreover you should make sure that you do not smother your baby while you are breastfeeding it. This is an important concept since your baby won't be able to breathe if your breast covers its whole face.

Lanolin and kaolin are a couple of other ingredients that can smother and weaken the skin. Kaolin is a fine, white clay while lanolin is a fatty substance extracted from wool. Lanolin can also cause skin rashes and allergic reactions.

Cheap skin care products also commonly contain alcohol and fragrance. Alcohols are drying to the skin. And the chemicals that make up fragrances can also expose you to harm. Butter, sugar, salt, raw milk, breast milk, eggs, red meat were mechanistically looked at, by looking at the components. For instance, eggs had cholesterol so the conclusion was that they caused high cholesterol, never has there been such an untruth about a food. All foods that were deemed bad were looked at mechanistically through the component parts, so if there was saturated fat present in a food then it was deemed bad for arteries and heart.

What's the best/richest body moisturizer you have used?

Going on holiday and want a really great moisturiser. I can't find one better that Tesco's own Creme Brulee body souffle and I have tried expensive and cheap brands. Has anyone experience of Elizabeth Arden's new 8hr body ?

i have used Nivea replenishing lotion. Its rich and creamy... and keeps my skin soft (i have hard water at my apartment... so i have tried a lot of lotions.) another good one is St. Ives whipped silk.

all in all, nivea lasted longer, and kept me the softest!

let us know what you decided to try. And have fun on your holiday!

With everyone becoming increasingly sensitive about one's appearance and style, depilação or hair removal is not just restricted to women alone any more. Luckily for us, the technological advances make it easy to find solutions for depilação masculina as more and more males are opting for hair removal.

Depilação masculina or male hair removal is turning out to be a very popular practice for enhancing beauty nowadays. Men are now increasingly seeing the benefits of what a good hair removal system can do to their body as well as appearance. Normally, the kind of depilação or hair removal depends on the density, location as well as the hair type to be removed.

Depilação of male facial hair is normally handled by conventional razors or the modern electronic shaving machines. Yet another method of depilação masculina that is fast becoming popular is laser treatments for getting rid of unwanted hair. Such laser treatments are very expensive and cannot be reversed if ever you change your mind.

The most widely used methods for depilação masculina like removing hair from the chest is waxing or shaving. Each of these techniques provide only a short term solution to the problem and before long the hair will have grown back all over again. Hence, laser treatments for depilação are getting very popular; they take about an hour to complete and your hair is permanently gone but will probably burn a hole in your pocket.

For depilação masculina on the back, waxing, shaving and creams are most commonly used. The best technique for depilação is supposed to be the hair removal cream as most of them are completely pain free. Besides, they can be used on any part of the body. But the most important thing is that this product actually does exactly what it claims to be doing and that is what one should be looking for while buying a product. The more often you use these hair removal creams the less dense the hair becomes making it all the more manageable.

Having your back or chest waxed can be quite painful as compared to just using a depilatory cream which doesn't require as much grit and trouble as the waxing. Waxing lasts as long as four to six weeks before the hair grows back again but it can be quite painful for someone who is not used to it. But if you want to look like the male models then you have to opt for depilação and there are plenty of depilação masculina methods that you may choose to use. The depilação creams have been tested by several dermatolgists who have concluded that they are a very effective and safe way of getting rid of unwanted hair. The cream is formulated in such a way that it will give you the best results possible.

What is a good moisturizing body lotion for dry skin??

That is less than $20 and is sold at Target, Wal-Mart, drugstores, etc. Thank you!

:]

I would try Aquaphor or Eucerin. Both are very good at healing dry skin. Good luck!

Skin rashes often manifest themselves as dry, flaky patches that can be red, swollen and inflamed. Left untreated, skin rashes can spread and become infected. Often a result of skin disease such as dermatitis, psoriasis, or dandruff, skin rash can be treated by use of moisturizing skin care products that penetrate to deep dermal layers where rashes often begin. Skin inflammation is the sign for skin or body rashes. During rashes there is a change in the color and the texture of the affected area that is easily visible. This occurs due to some kind of irritation, disease or even due to an allergic reaction occurring as a result of certain chemical reactions, foods, leaves of plant, furs of an animal or insect bite and several other environmental factors. Rashes might target some specific areas of the body and also the whole body. Although it is not contagious still some cases are found when it has been transferred via close body contact.

What are the causes?

Lots of things can cause a body rash, including but not limited to:

* Direct exposure to specific irritants or allergens (such as poison ivy, certain chemicals, or foods)

* Acne, eczema, psoriasis and other skin disorders

* Viral, fungal, and bacterial infections

* Insect bites

* Parasite infection

* Exposure to extreme cold, dry, or hot weather conditions

* Other medical disorders such as liver disease, kidney disease, and certain types of cancer

Natural treatments will feed the body and make it healthier as it heals. The body will be treated from the inside to relieve the problems on the outside. The skins natural balance will be restored and the digestion will improve. When the internal organs are clean and in proper running order, the body will get rid of the toxins and the buildup causing the rash will be eliminated. Some rashes may itch terribly, have scales, or have a rough appearance to them. Some of these may break open and become infected. The problems causing the rash are best dealt with by natural medicine instead of synthetic medications. Skin care products containing Emu Oil have been found treat rashes effectively.

Home Remedies:

* Avocado paste is very effective as ointment for rash.

* Smear olive oil on the skin.

* Baking soda is a good remedy to stop the itch, mix some baking soda with water and apply the paste.

* Mix honey and cinnamon and put on the itching part.

* Aloe Vera is well known as a remedy from rash and other skin problems.

* Almonds oil is very good cure for rash.

* Fill up a tub with warm water and add barley. Lay down for 20-30 minutes to reduce the itch and rash.

Natural remedies for skin rashes do not cause the side effects of conventional medications. They simply nourish and support the skin, detoxify the body, reduce swelling, clean germs and bacteria away, and produce healthier cell function. Skin care products formulated with Emu Oil, Jojoba Oil or Panthenol help to reduce itchiness, reduce inflammation and promote healthy, soothing skin development.

African Shea butter originated over 2,000 years ago from the Karite Nut Tree, found only in West Africa. After 20 years the Karite Nut Tree grows dark green fruits and from June to July these fruits fall to the ground and are harvested by those of West Africa. Each fruit contains a nut but before collecting the fruits and extracting the nuts a prayer is said to thank mother-nature for her gift. This has been the tradition for years in The Republic of Ghana. After the nuts are taken from the fruit they are crushed and boiled, which results in a natural fat that is slightly yellow in color. Since Shea butter is all natural it can sometimes vary in color. It has a creamy substance that is edible and even sometimes used in the chocolate industry as a substitute for cocoa butter, although it is most commonly used in skin care products.

African Shea butter has been dated back to Cleopatra, who mentions having clay jars full of this cream for cosmetic use. Some benefits Shea butter may have on your skin:

African Shea butter is not limited to cooking and cosmetics. It was traditionally used for water proofing wax, improve durability of wood in instruments, hairdressing, candle making, and medical ointments.

In Nigeria, African Shea butter is used to cure sinusitis and nasal congestion. Its hydrating properties relax the face skin which eases respiration. Shea butter has only recently been exported for use on other continents.

Beyond Africa, African Shea butter is most commonly used in cosmetics, such as moisturizing creams and conditioners for damaged hair. African Shea butter has proved to reduce wrinkles and stretch marks. It is a solid, but turns to liquid at body temperature so that it can hydrate deep into the skin without clogging pores like some other moisturizing creams. African Shea butter is used in many skin care products such as age defying creams because it is composed of all natural ingredients including vitamins A, E and F. It is also gaining recognition for being particularly effective for cancer patients who experience extreme dry and cracked skin during chemotherapy. Other more modern uses of African Shea butter include:

· Hair conditioners

· Chocolate fillings

· Soaps

· Sun blocking lotion

· Leather conditioners

Aside from producing African Shea Butter, the Karite tree was also used to carve coffins for many Africans kings. Africans felt the need to do what they could with what was left of the tree because they could not be transported or replanted in those times. Recently, Shea butter has been produced in some parts of Eastern Africa. Europeans no longer control the export of Shea butter so the possibilities are becoming endless.

Shea butters that are produced from chemicals to imitate the natural African Shea butter aren't nearly as beneficial for the skin. Many of the chemicals clog pores or cause further damage to the skin. One hundred percent all natural Shea butter have been found to be the most beneficial.

Many people have adopted a lifestyle that is more in keeping with the environment. In addition to eating healthier foods and using environmentally safe energy sources, This lifestyle change also includes using products which are safer and kinder to their skin. According to many dermatologists organic skin care products are much gentler and more effective than the synthetic chemical based products which dominate the market, We need to discover which ones from the multitude of natural ingredients are the most effective.

If the company you are purchasing your cosmetic products from has not signed the Compact for Safe Cosmetics pledge, then you should not be using their products. Companies signing this pledge will not use ingredients that are chemically-based. So you can feel safe to use their products. If the product contains ingredients that can be eaten, then you know it is safe and organic. Remember whatever you put on your skin is absorbed and can enter your blood stream.

You need to be aware of the harmful chemicals that are being used by some skin care manufacturers. These chemicals can create more damage to your skin. Some of these harmful chemical ingredients being used are: Parabens which are preservatives used to improve the shelf life of products. It is also known to cause cancer. Fragrances: These causes depression and skin irritation. Other substances such as alcohol which dries the skin, dioxane, mineral oil and triclosan. Be aware of these and avoid using products which contain them.

Other very effective natural ingredients used in the best organic skin care products include Active Manuka honey and essential oils such as Jojoba oil, Avocado oil and Grapeseed oil. Active Manuka honey comes from the honey produced by bees from the pollen of the Manuka bush in New Zealand. It is a very effective natural ingredient used to help reduce lines and wrinkles. There are many good organic face creams out there that contain effective ingredients like Babassu, Phytessence Wakame, Shea Butter, and Cynergy TK, so keep your eyes open.

When we are young, these proteins are abundant, but as we age, we have less and less of them. This is one of the main causes of why you get wrinkles, fine lines, and other aging signs. Most skincare companies know this, so they put collagen and elastin directly to their products, but this is a mistake. Collagen and elastin cannot be absorbed by your skin, because the molecules are too big. Still, many companies put them in their products, because they know that people will buy them anyway. There are many tricks that these companies use, but as you educate yourself, the chance of you falling for their stunts goes down.

These are products that are made from superior, high quality ingredients completely free of any pesticides, herbicides or other harmful chemicals that could compromise the integrity of a plant. They do not contain any synthetic or man made fillers or additives. Because organic natural skin care products, comes from the purest quality ingredients, consumers can feel confident about the products.

what's a good moisturizing body wash?

I have dry skin especially when the weather gets colder, so i was wondering what's a good moisturizing body wash?
preferably not too fragrant but any suggestions would be great!
Thanks

I love the dove moisturizing body wash
good stuff
i also have very sensitive skin and this agrees with that too.

Shea Butter is the oil from the nuts of wild Shea trees (Vitellaria paradoxa) scattered throughout the wooded savanna of West and Central Africa. Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of the shea butter tree which begins to bear fruit after about 15 years and can take 30 years to bear a crop of nuts with a high content of fatty acid.

This natural healing agent has natural fat extracted from fruit of the shea tree and is reputable for its: High moisturizing properties and wonderful pharmaceutical properties which protect the skin from dryness and sunburn; treatment of chapped lips and feet, skin abrasions and blemishes; high nutritive qualities including vitamins A, D, E, F;

Shea Butter is mentioned in almost all African historical documents, including a reference as early as Cleopatra's Egypt, which mentions caravans bearing clay jars of shea butter for cosmetic use and is celebrated world-wide for its soothing, restorative, and healing properties.

Skin conditions like skin cracks, sunburns, very dry and sensitive skins, dermatitis and dry eczema, require a daily and efficacious attention. Skin rashes- including diaper rash skin peeling, after tanning Blemishes and wrinkles, Itching skin due to dryness, sunburn, shaving cream to reduce razor irritations.

This african natural healing agent can also heal and prevent small skin wounds such as; skin cracks soften tough skin on feet (especially heels) and stretch mark prevention during pregnancy.

In addition to minor burns, shea butter protects your skin from sun and wind damage while reducing blemishes and scarring. This natural healing agent eliminates scalp irritation from dryness or chemical processing.

While preventing bumps after shaving and reducing acne, shea butter absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue, helps restore elasticity to skin and luster to hair.

If you are experiencing skin allergies such as; poison ivy, poison oak, or skin damage from heat (hot grease while cooking, radiation treatment for certain medical problems, etc. Shea Butter is the natural healing agent that will give you relief and comfort and is now becoming one of the best-selling and most highly recommended skin care products found. Dry skin responds quickly to the nutrient rich moisture of pure shea butter.

Shea Butter has been used for centuries in Africa as a decongestant, an anti-inflammatory for sprains and arthritis, healing salve, lotion for hair and skin care, and cooking oil. Many people are aware of the existance of Shea Butter and know that its a high quality ingredient in many skin care products.

Because of its soothing nature, anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating effects, it is a perfect ingredient to incorporate into your body care and skin care regime.

It is my desire to help improve the quality of life for those who suffer from skin irritations and much more and to provide information describing natural skin care products that heal and relieve various inflammation and irritations of the skin and scalp.
