Charlie shrugged.
"There's a ring of truth to the ones that are still around today," he insisted.
His roommate stepped towards him and poked him in the chest as she responded:
"They're all hoopla, my friend!"
"Hoopla?" he responded.
"They're all marketing gimmicks. The best anti-wrinkle creams – if you ask me, and you didn't – but the best anti-wrinkle creams on the market are actually sold as hemorrhoid creams."
"Hemorrhoid creams?" he repeated, wrinkling his own face.
"You gotcha!" Natasha poked him once more for good measure.
"Alright, first of all, what did I tell you about personal space?" Charlie asked her. "You cannot flirt with me and give me the impression that you like me – as you usually do – because it hurts me right here." He touched his chest.
She took a theatrical step back, and looked down at her tee shirt and legs as if making sure she was not invading his space. Then she pointed to the gap between her eyebrows.
"Look," she said, and he saw the patch of dry skin. "How do I fix this without using one of your stupid home remedies for dry skin?"
"You and me have known each other since when? Middle school?" Charlie asked her.
She nodded, adding: "And then some."
"And then some. And have I ever given you bad advice?"
She pouted and shook her head.
"I've never steered you wrong, right?"
"No, Charlie. But what are you going to give me to clear up my dry skin?"
"Witch hazel lotion," he declared. He pulled open the bathroom door and she followed him in. He opened the cabinet above the sink and took out the container of Fuller Brush lotion.
"Witch hazel!" she shrieked, and she then cackled like a witch. "It even sounds like something out of the seventeenth century!"

"A lot of these so-called home remedies, as you call them," Charlie began. "You take Saint John's Wort, or Valerian root, or lavender – take your pick, Tash – these are still popular today because they actually work. Now I'm not some dippy hippy, alright? I'm not a member of the yogurt mad bean curd brigade."
She laughed.

Yes! Crabtree & Evelyns hand theraphy is wonderful!! I have used every single hand theraphy cream in the store and they are all great! I wouldn't use the gardeners if you don't want the oily feeling, but the lasource is probably what you need. Its about $14 or $15 but its worth it. I use it so much along with the hand scrub and now when I wash my hands I don't even have to lotion up when i'm done, it just that good.

Not Even a Second Thought!-- Have you every wondered what sense does it make to eat healthy, to watch your diet, to exercise and do all things right in taking care of body and then, without so much as a second thought, put harmful chemicals on your skin everyday, day after day?

What's In That Stuff Anyway?-- Here is a typical list on a jar of common hand cream: Water, - Stearic Acid, - Sorbitol, - Glycerin, - C-12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, - Sodium Borate - TEA, - Cetyl Alcohol, - Dimethicone, - Aloe Vera, - Phenoxyethanol, - Propylene Glycol, - Quince Extract, - Tocopheryl Acetate, - Potassium Sorbate, - EDTA, - Allantoin, - Methyl Paraben, - Propyl Paraben, - Butyl Paraben, - Menthol.  This had cream is described as containing "natural" herbal extracts.  YOU do your own exercise and see how many toxic chemicals you can find in your products that are listed in the table below.  Remember this is just a partial list of the tens of thousands of synthetic chemicals in commonly used everyday on the hands, face and the entire body!

The Problem! -- The problem is that manufactures aren't telling people the truth about the ingredients used in the products they offer. These ingredients are harmful.  Listen, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that daily use of such ingredients as:  stearic acid, sorbitol, glycerin, alkyl benzoate, sodium borate... and the list goes on and on... can't be a good thing!

The products sold as skin care creams are designed to penetrate the skin and quickly be absorbed in the body through the skin!!  HELLO!!  What does that mean?  Well, you might as well be eating them, drinking them and breathing them in!

The Solution -- People need to stop and think about the chemicals used on the skin the same way they do when it comes to the chemicals they put in their bodies.  It has been often said:  You are what you eat!  And no one questions that statement as truthful.  But, how about, including the addition -- You are what you put on!  As in put on your skin!  Yes.  That also is just as true too.  People need "green" skin care products that do not contain synthetic or man-made ingredients.  There are many companies out there that offer these products.  One that comes to mind is called Glimpse!.  These products do not employ harmful chemicals and as a side benefit, actually promotes good heath.  I say is about time!
